Been browsing threads I could find about the engine light.
So far I've concluded that it's stored a code. Fallowed the procedures to get the blinky light version that turned out to be code 14, ET sensor.
Can't seem to find info on what it means that I'm getting this code.
Is it safe to ride?
The light will come on for a few seconds, go out for a second or two, then come back on until the bike warms up.
What do I do???
Yep, Got that part figured out by the code 14 ET sensor (engine temp sensor).
I'm hopping to get some input on what to do about it.
The shop manual doesn't say what it means that it's giving that code.
Do I just replace the sensor or is there something else wrong
MM is the early Magnet Marelli fuel injection as opposed to the newer Delphi stuff.
...it isn't very good and not very tuneable
Code say ET is stuffed....just change it for a new one and it will be fixed....don't overthink it.
Thanks Spanners39, I'll change it out and not worry about it.
I do have a big hammer handy just in case though Trail Dog.
It must be the MM since it's a 98. I can't find any manuf. names anywhere to be sure but it sounds like I might be better off doing the carb conversion.
Does that red engine light double as an oil light?
The stock gauge hasn't dropped below 10Lbs yet at idle and runs about 30 at 3000. From what i've read in other threads that seams good.
