This is the cool brake that came off my rigid. It is like a bronze color. I have never seen another one like it. I wish I could have used it on this project. But I might just keep it and use it on the next. I have always wanted to build a cfl

Done it a couple of times and the results were not good.

My opinion... leave it open. You won't get anything up in there.

But it's your bike. Do what suits you.

Those filters, if not kept clean, will plug up from a combination of oily mist from the engine and dirt / road grime. When this happens, crankcase pressure has a hard time venting through the filter and will try to escape elsewhere... such as gasketed surfaces. Not worth it to me to risk causing oil leaks on my motor when those filters really serve no purpose that I know of.
