Well I'm enjoying a day off, which gladly has left me with little to do. The bag locks on my 97 EG have not worked since I got the bike. Best I can tell the key seems to be wrong. Have done some looking around on the net and haven't come up with much. Other than new locks with keys. I have enough keys I carry around anyhow and would simply prefer a single key. Has anyone run into the same problem and did you come up with a fix or a place to help with this.
my police bags came with a key...oddly enough it didnt work (no surprise)
ordered 2 lock cylinders from Boston Harley, and gave them my VIN. 3 or 4 weeks later, 2 new locksets came in, with 2 keys each, all worked perfectly on the ignition/fork lock.
for reference, ordering a pair of replacement keys from HD last year was $25, keyed to my VIN. this time...2 lock cylinders and 4 keys cost me $48....so if you need spare keys for your bike, try to order them with something else lol....cheaper that way
The key number is on your key. Just slide the black cover off and there it is. Then your dealer can order the matching locks and you get two keys with each. He just has to add the key number to the part number for the locks. Just pay attention to the orientation of the arms on the locks(use your phone to take a picture) or you can be messing with it for a while.

John I'll dang sure do that. I haven't messed with these yet because I want to take them apart and go back together asap. Seems the simplest repairs can bite me in the butt at times. R&R and repainting the inner fairing had me thinking hard and I did have pics LOL
Thanks WP
