95 Heritage, Adding 6 speed, cam, compression
I think it is illegal to ride without a seat here, but I may take it out tonight after traffic dies down just for a couple miles to try it out. I can't believe how good it runs and the sound is incredible. It is so deep you feel it in your chest but it is not obnoxiously loud. Same exhaust setup as before, but with the compression, cam, etc. it sounds a lot better.
I have some stuff on order for me to do some minor fabrication of a custom tank badge, tied into the theme of the previously mentioned covers. I am just buying a few different pieces that I think will work well together, doing some minor cutting, trimming, and assembly. Again, subtle but individualized, although the tank badge is going to be a show piece.

My God!
To be honest, on my previous demo ride with the stock air cleaner and a drop in k&n, I was a bit underwhelmed and had already started thinking about big bore next year or different cam, more compression, something to get more out of it because it was ok, but not quite what I was hoping for.
Now with the screamin eagle air cleaner kit, thanks to grbrown, all that has changed.
There is so much torque everywhere it is crazy! One minute I was sitting on top of the battery then I blinked my eyes and my *** was suddeny thrust onto the top of the rear fender. I did not open it up all the way but I did get on it a bit and took it to 75. Someone said the EV13 will run out of steam. I have not found where that is yet, which tells me this was the right cam.
Remember I started this thread asking about a six speed and what engine mods are needed for the six speed. Well I can honestly say I do not need a six speed now. The engine runs much smoother at all rpm's. It also does not feel like it is being overworked at 70 mph like it did before.
Previously I was underwhelmed. Now I am overwhelmed by the torque and all the rest of it. It pulls way harder than I hoped it would yet is controllable with a smooth power delivery.
After a build, a lot of people say "this is how it should have come from the factory.". I will not because the factory would never have built it this way.
I checked the oil temperature gauge. It is 30 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than it was when stock. That, to me, is a tangible measurable improvement. I used to average 205 degrees and on hot days stuck in traffic, I hit 225 at which point I shut the engine down. It is about 68 degrees this evening and my oil temperature was 170.
It does not feel like a racing bike. It's not high rpm, peaky, sudden power surge at a narrow rpm. It is the complete opposite of that with broad torque that starts at idle and goes to redline or close to it. Actual number? Don't know.
I do have a question though. Is there a 1-800 number to call if you have a grin that lasts more than four hours?
Go find a 400 pound chick in a string bikini.
If that doesn't do it nothing will!!!!

I am more than satisfied with the results, but if I would have to do it over again, I think I would have just done it myself and on the more technical bits that I was unsure about or lacked the tools to do, I would have brought to the creepy shop since that is essentially what the shop I paid did anyway and more than likely made extra money on me by marking up the services of the creepy shop.
I think the reason I am so blown away by the results is the parts ended up being well matched for each other and was able to achieve synergy.
I see cowboy's got the itch for a possible build and has a thread going asking about an 85" kit which most people chimed in to say it was a waste of money. Texas is not all that far from me, so maybe one of these days I'll head that way to let him check it out.
I am not saying this is the be all, end all build or list of parts. What I am saying is I got results that I am more than happy with without breaking the bank.
My seat should be ready this weekend and the aforementioned covers from azece should arrive shortly after.
I have a small luggage rack I am trying to install behind the sissy bar, but am having a lot of difficulty. I can't get the four torx screws loose. Two of them are readily accessible but are so ridiculously tight and probably locktited that I can't get them to break loose. The other two are so down low that the fender is in the way to access them. It looks like I would have to remove the fender struts to access them and probably still fight them due to being too tight like the other two. I am scratching my head on this because it seems simple enough but I can't believe how tight they are. I am using a good torx and a ratchet, but it isn't budging. Since it is chrome, heating it up or beating on it is out of the question.
