I haven't asked for many years, but there was a time when we could get a patch galvanised on the inside of the tyre, to cover a puncture. That heat-fuses the patch, so it cannot come adrift. Failing that I like the idea of a patch/plug, as mentioned by HarDlife.
Around here I think we use to call the hot patches "hot vulcanized" but I haven't seen them for years, although they might still do it.
Here is the mushroom patch(patch-plug),I think this is the route I would go.It is for tubeless tires but I don't see why it wouldn't work but you might want to read up on it. http://www.slime.com/shop/mushroom-s...ubeless-tires/

It drives me crazy when these "professional" web site designers misspell stuff. "Spair Tire repair Kit?" "Spair?" Isn't it "Spare?" Sorry for the rant, I was a software test engineer, it's in my blood.
If you want to talk overkill, a patch-plug would be the best. It has a plug molded to the center of the patch. You pull the plug through, sealing the hole, and then stitch the patch down, sealing the inner liner.
I use those on our tractor tires. They work great!

I emailed Slime about their spelling error, and this is their reponse:
"
Thank you for contacting Slime! Our marketing department misspelled spare as a branding tool. Please let me know if I can assist you further."
No wonder it big part of our society is illiterate.

LOL! I had to go back and look,I just posted the first site I could find with a mushroom patch. I know what you mean though,I am a 9th grade drop-out and I constantly notice mistakes like that in the newspapers and the likes from Professional writers,I guess they no longer have editors or spell-check.I'm not a spelling **** and don't care how an individual spells something on a forum but I expect more from a pro. "Spair" tire, kind of leaves you in deSPAIR...

I forget a lot of words that I'm not around much anymore. Just the other day the old lady was going to the store and asked if there was anything I would like to have... I said yea,I would like to have some of that stuff I used to get all the time but seldom see anymore, starts with a "P".She brought home
peanut butter but I was thinking it was something that ended with a "Y"..It sucks getting old.
