'95 FXSTSB Re-Ignition Issue
I had the same symptoms with my 99 nightrain. The fix was replacing a torn diaphragm on the bottom side of the carb. It was hard to start and keep running for the first 5 min and I would always have to use the choke.

With a 48 slow I cannot see you running lean with only those mods. How many turns of the screw did you go, I run a 44 slow and am just a tad over 2 1/2 turns on the screw. I would first look for an intake leak then as cowboy mentioned the float level. I would also check the petcock and fuel line for restrictions while I was at it.

I went back & re read your first post a 44 might be a better slow jet to start with , also try looking up www.CVperformance .com that's all they do is CV carbs , no matter what year it is & all his parts are made here in the states nor jap crap like Hd will sell you
