Default Sold my '91 Tour Glide

I loved the bike, although it needs some TLC rust wise. I've had it for over a year and I just never felt comfortable controlling the weight of it. My back just isn't what it used to be, and after a day of riding it, it felt like I went 15 rounds with a Rhino. So, the independent who works on my bikes had a buddy that builds customs for fun. He offered me a fair price for the bike and I took it. I'll miss it, it was a nice bike. But I won't miss the weight of it.

What it looked like when I sold it....

What it looked like a couple of days after the buyer purchased it. He's not going to do anything drastic to it until he get his current project done. But as a Street Glide looking bike, it's not bad.

I like the seat he put on it, looks lower and narrower. The only problem I have with my '88 is getting my leg over it. But that's a nice looking bike. I'd sure like to know what you got for it!

Yup, the Softail has a much lower center of gravity and very easy to control. The Tour Glide with the shark nose and king tour pack made that bike heavier up top. I only dropped it once, and that was the 1st day I owned it. But I had a few close calls that were heart stoppers.

I sold it for $3700. It has 55K on it. Lots of rust from winter salt. The original owner rode it every chance he had. Wore a snowmobile suit in the winter months from what I was told. Don't think he washed it much. The pictures make it look better cosmetically than it is. The front fender has a fair amount of rust coming through the paint, as well as rust all over the frame and rear fender. Lots of pitting in the metal. It really needs to be completely stripped, blasted, painted and restored. Ran like a top tho.

At least you aren't giving up riding completely. A softail properly setup with a good suspension is a joy to ride and carries its weight much better.

Thanks. That much with those kinds of cosmetic issues, gives me an idea what mine is worth. I'd like to get a smaller bike, but I don't know where I'd put my groceries on anything else! I fill the truck quite often.

I think blue book on it averaged about $4500 or so. I wasn't looking to make anything on the bike. I was happy to see it go to someone who had a vision for it.

you would be amazed in what you can fit in leather bags , when I sold my E Glide & just had my 94 soft tail with leather bags & luggage rack , you just need to pack tighter

Like playing Tetris.

Use that vacuum cleaner thing to compress clothes.

Get a rear rack and a bag to go on it for when you need extra capacity.
