okay just git my ev27 cam in, put in pushrods bleed each down... go to fire it up and no go. Readjusted the pushrods and tried again, nothing... I'm running a performance lifter would that mean I need to adjust pushrods different? It sputters when I crack the throttle slightly but that's it. Otherwise it just loads up and blows.
Its a 96 rd king with m and m injection (unless you want to pay fir the carb conversion I'm nit doing it). Currently have the battery unhooked and am charging. Maybe computer needs "reset"? Any help would very appreciated!
Cam timing shouldn't be out. I rotated till the dots lined up and put in the new. Unless one of my kids messed with it. But they wouldn't have known to realign the dots.
I am by no means a M&M expert, which is why I got rid of it. I was under the impression that the M&M was only capable of minor performance upgrades such as exhaust and breather. I can only assume that the ECM would need a new tune for your set up. I would start with the Spanners suggestion of checking the cam timing to see if you can get it to run but I still think your going to need a new tune on your ECM, if you can find a good M&M guy. Let me know if you want me to help spend your money. I did the carb conversion on my 96RK, with the help from the guys on here of course. Made a huge difference. Very tunable, great throttle resonse.
I agree with Spanners, sounds like the timing is out by 180deg.
Are you aware that there are more than one set of timing marks on the crankshaft? And the marks differ from year to year. Make sure that you are timing for the correct marks.
