Old people......
Old folks ...
Old 'riders' who have survived slow down and take a lot more care as bouncing on pavements does get any easier with age.
Old drivers don't care as they are surrounded by tons of steel.
It's back to that forgot Christian principle of considering others as if they were yourself.
a) All drivers are microchipped once they reach 70, which sends a warning blip to radar alerts systems (could get distracting in Florida).
b) A good reason for introducing driverless Google cars.
c) We limit them to electrical power golf carts.
Of course, the truth is it's young males who have the most accidents and hurt themselves most ... but what are the statistics for the amount of accidents old folks cause for others? The roads are becoming much worse due the introduction and distraction of their smart phones.b) A good reason for introducing driverless Google cars.

First I wouldn't get into that situation. I'd let the fools go on. If they persisted bluetooth Law Enforcement while I stall. In that video I didn't watch enough times to see why bike got ran over. If he blocked him purposely then asshat deserved it imho. The law should have been called prior. How about showing 10 minutes prior to accident. How long did they f' with the RR? Too many variables.
When I ride defensive driving is my mode.
When I ride defensive driving is my mode.
And now that I am old, there are things I would/should have done differently. But it is too late now.
No one wrote the manual on how to grow old disgracefully ... I
Arlen Ness and Harley will be selling 1 1/2" chrome Zimmer frames with risers before we die.

Apparently, the Alexian Lien kicked it off by throwing a water bottle out of the window at one of the riders.
My guess would be that they were already trying to keep him out of flow of bike but he want to assert his rights. This is what I have seen in such situations, especially by tank driver mentalities, such as Range Rover drivers. Rather than do the sensible thing and take a moment, just let it past and enjoy the carnival, they push in aggressive and try and use their armour.
Conversely, what I have also seen with such rider groups is that when, say, an emergency vehicle wants to pass, they clear the streets and make sure it gets through. They are self-organizing, and not just total a**holes.
My concern is how instantly the media kneejerked to use extremely prejudicial terminology and portrayal of bikers as a knife slashing lawless gang thereby excusing the wrath of the "good father just protecting his family" and how powerless and uninvolved any rider groups were in response to it.
Incidents such as these will be used against motorcyclists as a whole and erode the right to free assembly.
This "all bikers as gang members" is a meme which has been spread viciously thru society to serve numerous the agendas. I don't see any advocacy group challenging it. The consensus through social media is almost entire against all motorcycles and in favor of such behavior. I was surprised to read it here also.
For example, without any evidence to support, it was repeated many time that the biker slashed the tires of Range Rover with knives. I have to doubt that too ... with the nature of their tires it would be utter futile.
For all the "He only want to save his family", when push came to shove the bikers did not touch his 2 year old or wife, and would not have. He was only thinking of his own ***.

Ditto, there was that atrocious case recently when a Chinese (?) guy used a Range Rover as a battering ram to push his through a bike ride (link below), rode over some riders and put some father in a wheel chair for life. And the press portrayed him as the poor "victim" of an evil "biker gang" just because he had the crap beaten out of him afterwards. the super rich car driving **** Alexander "Alexian" Lien gets off. They call him a Credit Suisse vice president but I think he made his money through dot com era. Alexander will be a fake Anglicised name. What's Lien, Chinese? His wife is Rosalyn Ng, so may be Vietnamese.
Did you watch the video from the beginning? The 'poor' bikers simply on a 'bike ride' passed on both sides, and then one idiot tried to make the RR stop by stopping in front of it. He probably thought this would force the RR driver to stop and allow all the bikes to pass and continue their 'ride'. Put the blame for putting "some father in a wheel chair for life" on that idiot for thinking a motorcycle could intimidate a RR. I never saw a water bottle thrown in the video.
As for the RR driver trying to get away, this isn't the UK. I understand guns aren't real prevalent over there, but they are here. Some, if not many, of those bikers out for a ride were probably carrying. This could have quickly turned bad for the RR driver and his family.
I think your racism against the Chinese, or possibly the Vietnamese, is coloring your perception of the incident.
