So after all the cam.change and lifter tappets and adjustable pushrods comes either a bent/stuck valve or valve spring. No compression in the rear cylinder. So now comes the teardown. I want to build this now. Higher compression (staying below 10.25) without shaving heads. If I go with a 10.0:1 compression piston in a 10 over cylinder and use the thinner. 030 head gasket would that still keep me in that area?
If you waited between pushrod adjustments until you can spin the pushrod, thenI doubt you hurt a valve. More than likely you have a pushrod too tight. Have you tried re-adjusting the rear pushrods????

I did wait for the lifters to bleed down before moving to the next pushrod. But I've had this spring sound since I installed the new rear exhaust pushrod. I've readjusted them about 20 times each (being honest not exaggerating. So basically I'm at pulling the rocker boxes... if I'm doing that I might as well go all the way down to the base gaskets that are seeping right?
Spanners, that's the greatest thing about cyber diagnosing... "The oh yeh and it's doing this too, is that important???". But that's what makes it interesting, doesn't it!!!
Now it sounds like something is sticking or broken causing a part/parts of the valve train to not folloew the profile of the cam!!

True, I have had this scenario happen before, once on an Evo and once on a TC where the spring was binding on the holes in the lower part of the rocker box. Had the same symptoms but as we know....it could be anything as one man's clatter could be another man's clunk
It's not too bad. I took mine apart a couple of weeks ago. Scott at Hillside machine is boring it, giving me 10.5:1 pistons, stage 1 heads, woods 6 cam, and dyna 2000 ignition with a custom curve. Just playing the waiting game right now.
