Windshield Info
with the height right between your nose and mouth, the wind is still above your head.
You mostly look over the shield, but with a small nod of your head, your looking through it.
Another thing I like about the recurve is that the top edge is staight up and not kicked back, where you see the thickness of the sheild right in your line of sight.
We use a recurve on the flh and the sportster, and happy with both.
I think windshields look kinda funky on FX front ends, but it's still worth having it to me(and the wife).
This is actually a windsheild for a dyna but made it work on the sporty with mid glide trees, but can also completely remove it in 30 seconds.

LR Harold, how tall are you? I went through a multitude of options for my Sportster. Two best options:
1- HD 3/4. This one keeps the wind off your chest and smooths the airflow you get at head level. So, you don't have to fight to hang on and there is no buffeting. There is a company making a taller windshield for these, too, which I haven't tried.
2- Klockwerks billboard on the HD quick disconnect frame WITH LOWERS. This windshield has the recurve top lip as mentioned earlier. This sends the airflow higher making it like a windshield that is about 3 inches taller. It also provides a noticeable downforce on the front end. Great product. I mention the lowers because on my sporty there was still an updraft around the tank that caused buffeting. A pair of homemade lowers fixed that. There are plenty of options for better looking lower wings.
I no longer own the sporty but I do have the windshields, so if you are interested pm me. They would come at a significant discount compared to new, and we could probably work out a "try and buy".
I have a stock appearing Memphis Shades that came with my FLHRS. Would like to upgrade to a Klockwerks billboard or a batwing fairing. I tried riding without it once, just around town. Didn't like it and put it right back on.
