Default Windshield or not?

How many of you guys ride with windshields? I have the (I'm guessing) full length windshield for my bike as it came with it in the purchase. I typically leave it on all the time since during the summer I go on the LIE and at 60+ mph it just feels more comfortable and in the fall/winter/spring its a bit cool out. Ever since I tried it basically I liked it and usually always have it on.

Today I took it off because it was in the 70's and went for a 30 min ride around the area in the evening and it feels completely different riding it. I guess its just the noise difference makes me want to shift sooner or something with it on, but without the windshield things seemed to be smoother and the way I rode it, the bike didn't feel as slow. I know its in my head but just curious if anyone else rides with one regularly.

It probably is quicker w/o the shield, called wind resistance. Iride with them all of the time on both the sporty and lowrider. It is a comfort thing for me.

I use one almost all the time. Keeps the bugs off. I just don't like big bugs hitting my face at 70 miles an hour.

The bike is going to be quicker without the shield on. Its ok up to about 60 then the wind will start pushing on you. shield makes it more comfortable then.

When I just cruise in town and close around the house I leave my winshield at home. It feels real good, but when you get to 60 mph or so the wind starts to beat up on me. When I go out of town and get out into the country for the long haul I put the wind shield on. The wind shield IMO does not slow the bike down like a sail any more than my body would. You use either your body to break the wind or a windshield. With out the glass your neck and shoulders will get tire from fighting the wind when riding at high speeds. Your body is breaking the wind, with the windshield you can last longer because your not bucking against the wind, the windshield is breaking the wind. My gas milage doesn't change either way. I don't like the look of a windshield but it sure helps on long rides at highway speeds.
That's why they made them as detachables.
