Just a warning for anyone reading these posts and thinking of getting the flush mount caps through J&P cycles. DO NOT buy the wrinkle/flat black flush mounts!! You would probably be ok getting the chrome one, but we got the wrinkle black for my wifes denim black Iron. Problem 1 these are painted, even on the threaded part of the assembly, and as everyone knows gas eats paint...so we had to clean all of the paint off of the threads, and within three weeks the paint started to peel off the top. The surface under the paint was almost polished aluminum, no way was paint going to stick to that anyway. Just a freindly warning to anyone considering the wrinkle/flat black flush mounts from J&P Cycles.
Those are the ones I bought too. I think I paid less than $30 w/shipping. But I'm sure your seller buys them from a much more reputable sweatshop than mine does. lol
In all seriousness I had these for 3 years now and they look just fine with the only signs of wear being my silliness and carelessness.
They arrived today with two flat gaskets each and one thick o'ring each. I experimented with different arrangements but settled on one flat rubber gasket on each cap.
I have to tell you, it improved the looks of the bike tremendously. Everything seems to flow smoother now visually.
