You have to be care full with the low budget HID and LED upgrades they just don't seem to last like the factory bulbs. The last thing you want is a cheap ballast or bulb quiting on you when your on a long trip. If any of you have had an HID light in your vehicle quit and have had to pay to replace a ballast they can be expensive. (BMW, Mini, Benz, etc)

Good advice BLK. I see that they are coming with longer warranties but that may not mean anything either. Of course being a RG, I have 2 independent ballasts so I'd probably still get home! But dependability is a biggie for me.

The Truck-Lite spot lights are great. I posted a current comparison with them (and the hadlights) v. regular. They are about a bill each. I think I had to fiddle a little with them to get it all to work on my bike, but nothing major. The connector wires had to be spliced inside the housing.

Don't put too much into what you see on the volt meter. That is showing the losses of over a dozen electrical connections on an undersized wire and not what is at the battery.

+1

I had upgraded my sealed-beam spots to halogens a few years back, but these are even better.

Partial hijack, my understanding is that some bikes have a 40 amp stator/regulator?

Is there an easy way to determine what you have? Might help some in deciding what to select for upgrades.
