The Road King seat is shorter and hits the base of the tank panel, the Electra has a longer nose that goes up on the tank panel further, I believe a filler is also available. I cut down a Corbin Ultra seat to put on a RK so anything is possible.

The '84 Mustang seat on my Ultra now, is a shorter seat.. Makes sense that some were just designed like that. I have seen the panel on ebay, dresses it up nicely.. Anyone interested in the Mustang seat?
Ok guys, in case anyone is interested, I did buy the '97 seat and will make it work.. Essentially, I'm going to pull the front tab off, gring the pan a bit and fabricate a hoop to fit the frame in the front. The rest of the seat fits just fine..
So, the Mustang seat is now for sale. I'm thinking it should be worth $200, but shipping could be $30-40. I'd be willing to work with anyone that wants it. Just let me know, I'd like to get it on to someone who would use it.
It is an '83-84 FLH Mustang seat.. I ran it on my '95 by simply bolting it to the grab rail, which I cut down and will include if anyone wants it..
Thanks,
So, this winter project keeps growing as I continue my shopping for parts..
Anyhow, can anyone verify if there are any pan issues in installing a '97-07 seat on a '95 Electra Glide frame?? I figure maybe just a tab or something, but it could be a $300 mistake if not..
Thanks,
they changed the frame around 96, longer swingarm and possibly lowered the seating position about an inch

You don't even have to go thru that much trouble, simply cut a 1/2 to 3/4 off the tab of the 97 seat, and it will slide under the tank tab, then glue a small piece of rubber to the seat tab , it'll take up excessive clearance , and fits like a dream, I out over 50k miles on my 96 electra glide with a newer model road king seat, best mid I ever made, chad
