Winter time, pissing down rain, going across the Hay Plain between South Australia and Victoria, you betcha it does. Specially when riding gear used to consist of the traditional leather jacket, jeans, ripple-sole suede desert boots with plastic bags tied over them to "make them waterproof" and open face helmet with no visor or even goggles. A bloke did not want to look like a poof wearing a rain suit or anything. What if his mates found out?

John, yes when we fitted it we epoxied some fender washers on the inside to strengthen it.
