Default question installing a fairing on a FB

I am looking at installing a fairing on my 02 FB. Do you need to change the stock risers and put on pull back risers? Also can anyone suggest an aftermarket fairing? thanks

You shouldn't have to change risers if you're using the stock ones, but you may have to pull your handlebars back a bit. Depending on which aftermarket you go with, you may be limited on risers as well. I've got 3" ones on my fatboy and my handlebars are pulled too far back for my liking. I'm limited to 3" of rise and am looking for something that pulls back another 2" without hitting the fairing but haven't found what I need yet. I've heard great things about dragonfly. I have the kuryakyn airmaster deluxe but only because I got a stellar deal on it.

Thanks for the help. Looking to get one put on in Daytona biketoberfest. was looking at reckless fairings. I was gonna put on 4" risers before I go there. no bike payment is nice and fairing would be easy way to go.

for the price and quality you cant beat reckless, I had one installed on my 04 fatboy at Gettysburg bike week and have had no issues at all, everything works great and it is a very well made piece. definitely worth the money, I got the quad speaker unit with the infinity Bluetooth head unit and aux/usb port as well as the 12V socket, 850 installed, only took the guy 30 mins tops to install it too and when I took it off to have it painted it was literally off in less then a minute.

no it was all just the factory setup, attatched to the windshield mount and clears everything perfectly, theres noticibly more weight on the forks at first, but it really isnt bad, it took me a whole 30 seconds to get used to it, the ride is definately different for the better IMO however it domes with a 5'' windshield, which for me im 6'1'' but the wind directly on my forehead, making my sunglasses "flutter". went to harley and got a 7'' windshield and it fixed the problem completely. id strongly recommend it, and besides, now i can rock out while riding
