My steering lock doesn't work, but I think it might just be it's not keyed the same as my ignition.
Dumb question, but how would I know if either is the original lock and if it's been changed. Is it possible to rekey it to match now? Was thinking of calling a locksmith to have a key made if it's possible, but thought I'd ask here first. Someone has to have dealt with this.
Previous owner said it never worked, but they key doesn't budge like it's not matched at all, it's not like it turns a little and doesn't engage.
There's no markings on either lock. It won't turn at all key doesn't budge. I could order a lock keyed to my other lock but would I have to take the whole front end apart to remove the lock?

Hey, good excuse to put some mid or wide glide trees on it!
Funny you should say that! I just discovered the fat boy front end on dynas. I want one. I actually found a thread on here the guy did it to his 98 fxdl. The bike looks just like ours same color. I'll dig it up. It looked good. I actually wanted a fatboy but I didn't like it when I sat on it. Low rider was much more comfortable
That FB front looks really good on there.
I think I'm gonna go the mid glide conversion route, though. I just can't get past the idea of giving up my dual discs!
