Welcome. I wound up going with a Ness Big Sucker Stage I and was able to keep the stock air cleaner cover. Don't forget to post some pics.

I'm new to this too, ac was one of the changes I was looking at doing. Picked up my bike over the weekend. '98 Dyna Convertible, I have about $3k invested.

Welcome to you and dsadie, from the UK. If you have decent weather at present, just ride! Leave it alone for the time being, as you may find that your tastes change regarding what it currently looks like.

I'm no fan of Haynes either, as they miss essential stuff and try to cover too many variations of bike. They have a great auto museum over here, built on their profits, but I steer clear of their books!
