Have you set up the shifter alignment using the wee adjuster on the outside of the tranny just behind the inner primary?

That adjustment solves many issues.

Its in the manuel...basically you take the top off the tranny, slacken the locknut on the adjuster (left hand side of tranny right where the pivot point of the internal shifter arm is) and set the claw so it is centred over the change mechanism. Someone may have a pic they can upload.

I just looked at my linkage where it is bolted on the shaft of the trans behind the primary..I sure hope the rod is just loose and that shaft is not stripped! the linkage is about to fall off the shaft! I tried to tighten the bolt, but it's not bugging!!
