Removed all the MM EFI. Had time to finish up today. Wow this ole girl has never started so fast!!! Altima ignition could not be any easer to install. CV. Carb and stage II ness filter all fit perfect Fuel tank was pretty easy cut one efi fitting off hose. Drilled out till I was very close to threads( did on lath not free hand). Put fitting in tank drill out rear fitting. Got out my small air deburring tool and cut lines and fitting out of tank in less than 10 min. Cut piece of 2 3/4 exh pipe in half and used it as a guard in tank so no mishaps cutting hole in tank. Flushed tank. Pingel fitting the only way to go. Damn things are butter smooth and fit is perfect. Unfortunately I didn't get to ride. I had to mount the new tires and do some clean up work from riding it all winter. But if your thinking of doing this. Just jump in and do it Wiring is plain simply. No need for harnesses Thank to everybody that listed parts for this swap so I didn't have to do much leg work.
Thanks 97 bagger for jet recommend Report back when I get her out there. Now back to race cars
Thanks again everybody
Got to ride it today. What a diff. I only static timed and just adjusted mixture. What makes these ole girls happy for timing as I will get er done these holiday weekend It's got tons more power. Starts so easy even when hot. Damn thing needs better brakes now. I never thought it would be these much diff. If your even thinking about it. Do it!!! I build hot rods and streetrod fir a living and love my EFI. But in this case. FORGETABOUTIT. Now if I can just remember to turn the fuel on LOL. Oh those AVONs ride great. I put 38 in rear 36 in
front. Sound about rite Think it only cost me 160 for ign. Carb was free but new Stage 2 ness filter 60 bucks new from a member here 35 for intake and seals pingel 125.00. Best money I have spent. Thanks everybody again for the info and parts! B
I got my conversion finished up last week. Ran perfect exactly 33 miles before the single fire coil in the Ultima kit took a dump and reminded me why I canned the MM EFI when it was firing on only one cylinder. Threw a used dual fire coil in it and switched the module to dual fire and have run about 200 miles with zero problems. My new Crane single fire coil will be delivered today. Luck of the draw, some of those Ultima coils are just fine.

Those coils are luck of the draw, mine took a chit and my buddy the got Ultima kit at the same time and the coil still going. Guess is depends if a 11 year old fills in for the 12 year old on the assembly line that day.
Ditched my coil per your exp. don't need that crap at 2-3 am. Little moisture in air tonite it ran even better on the way back from races. Still have a big smile on my face. Even neighbor just told me it sounds better. No friggin popping in exh on decel either. I am sure a crossover in the true duals would help. What to do next? Lmao. Oh I think I might have to run the rev limiter up one notch. Keep bumping it on on ramps!!!! Have it on the first curve. Maybe try second next .
