Put the new drive belt on my Lowrider today (cut the old belt open, no steel strands as I expected) anyway, took the rear axle out to make it easier to replace the belt, had the adjusters completely out of the swingarm and put it back together by eye....checked the wheel alignment and belt tension with the gauges and it was spot-on perfect!!
I was dead chuffed and on for a record time for doing the job but then I went to put the inner primary on and noticed the inner primary race had walked into the seal....bugger!!!!
So, I won't be riding out with the lads tomorrow night after all but I am picking up the S&S inner primary upgrade (cannot walk on the shaft) from my local dealer tomorrow afternoon.
$95 dollars well spent if you ask me, I hate IPB inner races with a passion...almost as much as I hate SOA style bikes
It always scares me when something goes easier than planned, or quicker...seems like when this happens there is always something else or something missed, although i tend to be in a hurry all the time it would still be nice to do something easier than expected. Only thing i ever had go to easy and be right was building a 1200 sq ft house foundation up in 28 days...with three helpers, never so lucky with mechanical stuff, but i like old stuff too so it goes with the territory
