Need help wiring a new tail light

I will give this a try and see what happens. I just completed the following from an earlier post. I have a tail light, but no stop light. Thanks for your reply. I have a manual and it shows the red/yellow wire to be the stop and the blue to be the tail. Thanks for your response. I will try and get back to the shop tonight or in the morning.

Just checked it. Red wire is the stop and the black is the tail light. Hooked up the wires to the harness and ran a wire from the housing mounting bolt to the black/ground wire on the harness. Works like a charm. I will clean everything up mount the light tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for your help. I am down to adjusting the clutch, mounting the fuel tank and seat, and she will be ready to fire. I have not ridden since November.
