maybe a 1 1/2 or 2 inch tank lift will give you clearance? just a thought.

My 88 developed a shake when I changed my exhaust, went from Samson BG3 duals to Screamin Eagle II duals. It started to shake at 60 then smoothed out at 70mph, I'm thinking I'm going to put on forward controls and go back to the Samson's. Here's before and after pics.

Redid the alignment a different want, wheels on the ground held upright from above, used a digital level and string. Everything is straight now and I have clearance again between the petcock and top link. Doesn't make sense why it was off, it was zero at every angle, but after pushing the engine around in the frame last night, it's straight and back where it should be. I don't know if it's possible the engine was shifted in the frame, but it looks good now, clearance and 90 degrees at both wheels with the string from front to back its inline as well. I'm done, just going to ride it, wasting too much time, winter will be here soon enough and i'll screw around with it then.

Wheels on the ground....makes sense to do it that way as that is how the bike spends its life...

Until TD posted a thread about all the miles he's been riding , I thought his bike was just garage art since the only pics we saw were jacked up lol.
