Expect the unexpected...
It's a nice place to visit, but... My sister and he hubby lived on Key Largo for 4 years, they got to hating it, nothing to do, you're on a rock. No golf, no beaches, nothing but bars and restaurants. The moved to St Pete a few months ago, and they're loving it. Captain Itch, one of the sponsors on this forum, and his wife lived on Key West for some time. She said the same thing, nothing to do on the rock. Now they are in Tennessee.
I had it made in Tallahassee... ****in loved it! Plenty of fishing, the riding was the best in the whole entire state... plenty of hills and twisties, and georgia/alabama was a short ride away. Lots of dirt roads to play around on, and a place to hunt just 15 minutes from my house, for free! Not the Apalachicola National Forest either... only bad part was a crappy paying job. I want to go back to school to learn something I can take anywhere, and then move back to Tallahassee. I love being a welder but I loved Tallahassee more.
I get the best of it all here in Gainesville. UF teaching hospital (Shands), another major hospital, tons of private practices, the University itself, and a large community college. All in the middle of otherwise rural NC Florida.
It's a virtual labrynth of blue-hairs lost and on there way to dr. appointments, college idiots whose ink isnt even dry on their liscences and feverishly texting away, and the yokels (who don't get into town much) coming and going from their jobs at the aforementioned places, also on their phones, talking and texting their thumbs off.
No rhyme or reason to the traffic flow, just ever present, erratically moving obstacles.
I know my situation isn't necessarily unique, or even the worst. Just sharing my POV.

You should read all and any books you can find by Tim Dorsey and Carl Hiaasen...then you will love Florida and have places to explore, tracking down where things happened in the books.
FWIW I loved Key West and didn't have a single near miss on the roads....which was a BIG surprise to me!

But, I can almost guarantee, there's a lot more to do and see within a 500mi radius of Denver, than 500mi of any city in Fl.
edit: Wait a minuet, wrong thread topic. It sure is easy to get confused in this around here, especially after Blu mentions the Bikini forum.....

Don't get me wrong, I've seen the sights, I love the sights and the Overseas Hwy and Key West is one of the finest rides there is. A couple weeks ago, a buddy and I rode down to Little Havana, Miami for a cigar and some Cuban coffee. I even got to sneek in a game of dominoes with an old Cubano, named Alex,... I think, I didn't really understand what he was saying. We rode back that day, about 600mi round trip. Had a blast.

Then what are you complaining about? Plenty of stuff to see and do, and places to go. I never run out of things to do in the panhandle.
Colorado is nice. I was in Florida last month and the drivers were terrible. In Colorado is does not take long to get out of the city, or living out of the city is even better. Winters are not as bad as most think.
Right about that, on the plains. Up in the mountains is a little different. I lived all up and down the front range, Fort Collins to Colorado Springs. the sun melts the snow quickly. A couple weeks in January of sub-zero temps, but mostly it was ok. My ex-wife has a house in Colorado Springs, and she's divorced again. Maybe I'll crawl back with my tail between my legs, "I'll be quiet!"
