Possibly Purchasing 1996 Road King , questions
Na, hellova bike, the RK can get the job done in so many areas, stripped down for a show look, long distance, handle well when lowered 1" and a low profile seat installed plus riders flip out when a Cadillac pulls away from when a pack of bikes hit giddy up.
Evo is a great engine but a slug, cam, exhaust and some fuel wakes them up instantly with keeping durability and you will soon see why a majority puts a EV27 or 3010/3020 in. Nothing better than a Evo RK, newer Twinkie RK's can't compare, you will see.
I look after a few TC and Evo "wheelbarrows" for people and whereas the EFI ones when stock (both Evo and TC) are as lame as they come, a stage 1 or stage 2 TC RK is a beast! Fly over here right now and take this 1550 SE203 cam, head work, fuel pak and de-baffled 2005 TC for a ride and let me see how long your nose grows when you tell me it can't compare (to an Evo in a similar state of tune).
Getting torque out of a TC is as easy as taking candy from a kid (as long as the kid isn't carrying a MAC-10) getting torque AND HP from an Evo can make them peaky, whereas TC's have a flatter torque curve and ride real well when tuned.
I am just amazed at how xenophobic some of you Evo riders are and how little info you base your assumptions on!!
A Stage 1, Stage 2, I love to hear the air cleaner, pipes. tuner, exhaust garble because it still sounds like a helecopter after $1500 but easy to spurt out I got a Stage something upgrade when the boys start talking. Flying to Australia to ride a Twinkie that I outrun here daily just doesn't seem appealing to me, now if your are talking a 120R with a Procharger then get me a price on airfare, other that, the fast Twinkie stuff is humor.
Spanners, there is only one bigger challange than trying to get a Twinkie to run with a Evo and that is if you can find a picture of a retarded tranny and post it, that will be the most challenging item on the internet, other than than the fast Twinkie statement wins

A Stage 1, Stage 2 Twinkie or a 95" Screamin Beagle cammed engine is a starter motor for a good running Evo, I love to hear the air cleaner, pipes. tuner, exhaust garble because it still sounds like a helecopter after $1500. Besides the twin cam engine "time bomb" waiting to happen, and the big bucks that have to be thrown at the twin cam to end up performing like a metric(or maybe better), the bullet proof Evo is in a league of it's own.
From my perspective, making the front end stand up(like a TC staged up's claim to fame) is old news. So what. In fact, I don't like that. Never did on all my screaming metrics.
What was "COOL", was the growing torque curve I discovered in the Evo(like a roller coaster) that made me wish I had rode Harleys 40+ years, instead of metrics- or what seems to me... "metric wanna be" twin cams.
My 80 inch Evo(Road King) with a cam in it, (and whatever else) leaves TC 103's in the dust. All the while sounding cool instead of like a Briggs & Stratten, or one of my metrics. Plus having all the torque, acceleration, top end, and "cool" factor needed.
In all fairness, the 2014 Rushmores are headed in the right direction.
I know, who cares what a former metric rider thinks, right?
