Default my first Evo Harley

Picked up a 96 ultra classic with 35k miles. Traded an 05 dyna super glide straight up for it. Minus the cam whine I have no complaints. Now time to make it mine.

Cam whine could be a kaput cam bearing... Better open it up and look.

Ditto what tmanbuckhunter says. Engines are not made to whine. It did not do it off the assembly line. Yes there is a break in but you are long past that. Check out my post "New Evo Engine" Change the cam to better one and install the Torrington bearing before your bearing fails or it will costalotta.

I'll put it this way OP... my cam chest had a SCREAMING whine, and I popped it open and found that the cam bearing coming apart literally, and the bearing journal on the cam was toast. All the heat it created melted the insulation off of my pickup. PLEASE check it out before it costs you... Luckily I found all the pieces, and none of them were sucked into the oil pump.
