Still helping a friend get his 94 Ultra on the road again after sitting about six years. It is very hard to start but once running it will idel but will not take gas. The likage seems to funtion fine but as soon as you roll on the throttle it simply cuts out. I know the cables need lubed but do not think that is an issue as the butterfly is free to move. I have changed the diaphram Acc Pump on the bottom of the carb per advice of HD dealer butno dice. I also ram some Seafoam through with fresh gas. Where to next? Thanks
Does the butterfly try move up when rolling on the throttle? The reason I ask is, if there is a hole in that diaphragm on top of the butterfly, it can do what your describing (stall out when rolling on throttle).
Inspect for holes or improper seating of gasket area. YD
I would suggest a complete carb rebuild.
That is one way to be sure.
On the other hand when I first got my bike I had problems with the stock carb so I had it rebuilt and it helped some but it still had problems.
I then replaced the stock carb with an S&S Super E and all my problems went away.

Yes, at least a complete disassemble and cleaning of the carb, every jet, port, hole, slide, nook and cranny!
Manifold seals are probably roached as well, but start with the carb...YD
Does it squirt gas in when you roll the throttle? Also when it is running can you see the diaphragm moving up and down? Watch out for back fires. Sounds like a carb cleaning is in order though. The new fuel gums up very quickly now.
Sounds like the slide diaphragm is shot. Raise the slide by hand when its running and see if it revs up....do it with the aircleaner off and use a screwdriver to lever the slide up.
When running and I slide the diaphram up it has no effect. It just make a sucking sound. With the choke out it will rev higher but not from a warm idle posistion
my money is on the main jet being clogged or installed incorrectly. Rebuild the carb with all new stuff and I bet you it works as long as you're doing it right
