Oil will build back up and start dripping again, you did nothing that affected the Evo on the rag except clean the existing oil out.
On the EFI lets hope that fixed it, I have fixed some that way and others have acted back up so may the EFI force be with you.

Reset your idle to 1000 rpm as per the book.

Already done and now holding the idle as it should.

The hot idle should be 1,000 rpm

Cold idle should be 1,500 rpm.

When it fires up cold it will fast idle at 1,500 rpm until the engine temp sensor drops it down in 2 steps to 1,000 rpm. Will do this everytime even after sitting for only a couple minutes to get gas. However; when the bike is hot it will only cold idle for several seconds before it drops down. Perfectly normal.

Anything much lower than 1,000 rpm hot idle and the bike will shake. Not good. It can also pop on decel.
