94 fxds has a slight vibration in the front end.checked all fasteners all ok.decided to check tire brought to mc shop and asked him to check it before re-balancing. he put it on a truing stand spun it and it had a wobble. it's an avon venom x with 6000 miles on it.anyone ever experience this?
It's not unusual for tyres to do strange things, that one may have been fitted badly from new. I've used Avons for donkey's years, including Venoms. I had one new one that just couldn't be installed properly, because the cardboard transport packer had been displaced and twisted the beads out of shape. It's one thing for the tyre to be out of true, but what about the rim itself? I'd replace the tyre (Avon now make the Cobra as a replacement for the Venom), but check the bare rim as well.
tires are 5 years old as you see from the mileage i don't do a lot of riding anymore. guess I'll just replace them.
thanks guys
Just my opinion ... if the tires are low miles and in good shape with no obvious damage etc., why replace them ?
Have a reputable tire shop that is experienced with bike tires check them out and rebalance them .?
the front cannot be balanced there is a wobble [rim is good] spoke with avon tech said could have developed a flat spot there is one year left on the warranty but it is not worth the trouble of sending it back.just posted because tires were fine this just developed. i was wondering if someone else had a similar problem. rear is like new but 6 years old.

Screw Avon , go for your warrenty and dont listen to any company bullshit regarding sending the tire back ect.?
Avon motorcycle tires have been around since day one and should be able to satisfy your concerns.

If your rear tire is 6 years old and still like new then you're not riding enough
