And as far as Vee Rubber being made in Taiwan, do any tire makers make them in the US anymore? I think most are made in Indonesia, due to that lack of climate regulations.
To the best of my knowledge Dunlop is the only one.

I've got to agree with Greezy... I am a pretty cheap bastard, but with tires, I really want something I can trust... I know many hate em, but I've always had very good luck and life from the Dunlop 402's.. Based on all the tire talk, I'm planning to try something new this time around on the bagger.. I know I can get 10k from the back with a Lop, so Avon and Metz are automatically out, not gonna put a set on every 6-8k.. So, in the next couple week's I'm planning to get a set of Dunlop AE's or Mich CII's.. Those are the only two I'm considering since Dunlop has proven themselves to me ,and still made in USA and Michelin is a very well respected brand with excellent reviews.. In fact, I was pretty surprised to see you didn't like them, at least till I saw that you really didn't know how long they actually lasted.. Anyhow, my initial point is that I'm not going to put some knock off tires on my bike, just to save $50.. My life is worth a little more than that, they are significantly more important than car tires, I personally just don't get "cheap" with tires..

As far as the Michelin Commander 2's are concerned, I've been running them and I am more impressed with them than I have been with any tire that I've run in the last 10 years.
Mine are wearing like iron, handle great and do very well in the rain...I'll be running Michelins for a long time to come.
I'm a very aggressive rider and love to run hard through the twisties, can't say enough good about the Commander 2's.
I think they are made in Thailand which is where Michelins are made...

I would stick with a name brand tire personally. My brother went with Michelins cause the tire guy sold him on this and that, and when it was all said and done they were within 10 bucks of each other for the American made Dunlops. I think the dunlops are excellent tires and its all I run. The difference for the shop that sells the Michelins, is that they get to keep more of the markup....

Vee Rubber are ***** to the point of being dangerous, sold a heap of them over the years to cheapskate Japper riders but using Vee Rubber or Kenda on a Cruiser is just plain crazy.

The only cheap tyres out there that are any good are Shinko or Big Bore (both the same tyre from the same factory) and neither last very long.

It was a lighter bike, but I ran shinko's on my sporty and they were great tires. I plan on buying a set for the Heritage come time for replacement

Lot of crazy people out there...lol...isn't Vee Rubber the only company that makes tires for the 26" and 30" bagger wheels that everybody and their brother is running?
