Got tired of waiting and bought everything I need to finish the bike except the seat. My hold up will probably end up being the paint. My buddy is an excellent painter and he is doing the paint. But, he has a full time job where he works shift work, so it is taking a bit. He has already fixed the dent in the tank and the small holes in the fender. He said the parts are in rough primer so he can sand them and look for imperfections. I brought him all the paint and supplies he requested last week. Hopefully he finishes it up in the next few weeks. I am traded him my labor wiring his 1975 (I believe) Chevy Blazer for the paint job, so I can't be too pushy.
Waiting on all my stuff to come in will make this a long week. The next stage is actually one of my favorite parts and that's wiring the bike. I am using a Thunder Heart micro controller complete harness. I used one on the last bike and really like it and their customer service is great. A Daytona Twin Tech single fire coil will complement the Dyna 2000i ignition. I am using a stock style dash and a Autometer tach/speedo. If any of you guys are Vets like me, Autometer provides a 15% discount if you call them. I went with a set of Ultima slash cut 2.25" drag pipes which I will be buying baffles for. I wanted a Thunderheader, but I am tapped on funds and $1200 for an exhaust system was not in the cards. Maybe later.
I got this timing cover from customderbycovers.com . Made in the US. I have a pin-up tattoo on my left arm that showcases all the branches of service my family has served in, so the timing cover is appropriate for me. Anyway, gonna be a long week.
Hahahahaha. I noticed that in the reflection after I posted it. Thankfully I am no where near that size. I actually wear a size 11 shoe and I am 6'4" and 245 pounds. Used to be a lot bigger though!

“Use to be bigger”… Did you have the giant foot removed? I think you missed an opportunity…. You coulda been the very greatest barefoot skier in the world. Coulda made your entire shtick based on skying on one leg too. Women and children would have sang songs about you through the ages and your named would have been remembered for generations to come. Custom foot ware companies could have finally got the recognition they crave…
You coulda played hop scotch through the woods and gave the Bigfoot hunters hope.
