Default oil drip

Oil drips slowly from the left side of my 2000 TC 88B. It's not either side cover gaskets. There are 3 half inch bolts on the bottom of the crankcase that have oil on them constantly. But the oil looks to be driping from the front of engine, but hard to tell. Does this sound familiar to anyone. Dont want to take back to HD shop. Thanx

Clean the area real good ..... take it for a run for a mile or so and look for the wet spot, there is your leak. It could be the oil filter, 'o' ring around the alt, or loose mount bolts in the inner primary.
Good Luck

Another spot to check is the crank position sensor (the little thing that gets in the way when you try to remove your oil filter). I just recently stopped a minor leak on my RK by replacing the o-ring on it.

Degreased the area and found whatr looks like the leak. Its the the rubber grommetthat the wires coming from the regulator pass tru the crankcase. At least that's what it looks like. can just the rubber grommet be replaced? gettin all info before I break it down
