I agree with Velocity....if you have a 3 sided needle it needs to be up graded to a 4 sided needle. The 3 sided needlehad a tendency to **** like Velocity said. Your Harley Dealer should have them in stock from an old service up grade.
Thanks for the help.It has the 4 sided type. The only thing i have done since i road it about 5 weeks a go is take the carb off andd take the sporster needle out and put it back the way i use to have it with the stock needle and 2 #4 washers and clean everything with carb cleaner.Did not take needle and seat out then, just checked float level.I guess i will get a new needle and seat. Thanks

Hmmm. Maybe that's my problem with the float valve issue on my CV carb. I have been getting the 3 sided version (aftermarket) and having a hell of a time getting it setup properly (either flooding or fuel starvation). After several needles and many attempts I gave up and ordered a Mikuni HSR42.
I called 2 dealerships and 2 bike shops and nobody had the float needle. One shop agreed that it is the needle. Both dealerships would not tell me anything and the other shop thought that therubber seals at the intake or the carb had an air leak so i bought the carb seal and made no difference.Velocity 1 is right.there is gas coming out of the right bleed.does anybody have suggestion where i an get the float bleed quickly. Thanks for everyones help.
