Default Rush Slip-On Muffler Question

I just got my bike about a month ago, a new 2006 Heritage Softail ( a carry over from '06), so the dealer was willing to deal some. Anyway, I ordered a set of Rush mufflers with 1.75" baffles and installed them tonight. They went on easy enough and look great. They sound great (nice low rumble and a roar when you open 'er up some)and everything seems to run and work fine.
I only went for a short 5 mile trip or so, but I am quite happy with the results.
I have read on this forum and others that I don't need to re-map the fuel system with such a minor upgrade. I believe if I upgrade the air cleaner at some point in time, I would need to re-map, but not just for new mufflers. I don't want to mess up the warranty. Anybody feel that a re-map is required with this set up (mufflers only)? I would probaly go the Power Commander route rather than a SERT.
I would apprecaite any and all advice on this subject as well as advice and suggestions for softails in general.
This forum is by far the best one I have visited and I been to a few of them laetly researching my recent purchase and doing some research even prior to the purchase.

Thanks
Randy

Hi Grzly,

Let us know how your bike goes after the remap. I would be interested to find out if it totally fixes the decel popping.

I have an 07 fxstc with Rush slipons with 1.75 baffles and no other mods. I have had no problems with engine running (goes great) and the plug colour is correct. I had a bit of decel popping but after sealing the clamp area the decel popping has reduced - but, is not eliminated.

ThanksGrzly and Shepo.
Grzly, I also am very intersted in how this works out for your '07.

Shepo, I did notice a very slight "popping" on deceleration, but nothing too bad. Just very slight popping when coasting (deceleratating).
I haven't driven it enough yet to check the plugs or much else. I just don't want to do any harm.

I put the 1.75rush slip-ons on my 07 dyna about 400 miles ago with no other engine mods.
Bike runs the same as when stock but with the sound one likes to hear on a harley.
The little bit of popping I get on deceleration is the same as when I had the stock pipes on.
I had slight popping with stock pipes and when I put the rush pipes on--the little bit of popping
is still there but can be heard a little more with the rush pipes. The people at rush said that I could put the 1.75 up to the 2.00 rush pipes on with no other modifications necessary. I am running stock air cleaner and have done nothing to the ecm. I do plan to get the sert and se-a/c soon as you would be able to adjust a/f ratio etc.

Hi Scooter75 and Zoopman,

I guess my bike is like your bikes.I only get a bit of decel popping after rolling off the throttle when the revs drop down, at higher revs on a closed throttle I don't get any.I probably only really notice it now because the bike is louder and sounds good.

I have been checking the plugs regularly and they have pretty much stayed the same as it was with the stock pipes.

I do not really want to purchase SERT / PCIII yet - I still want to buy a new jacket, extended forward controls, new bars, etc, etc, etc ... There is only so much the cook can take.

You'll be fine with just the slip-ons, no need to mess with the fuel. Once you bring more air INTO the moter, you need to adjust. The 1.75's don't require any remapping and sound great to boot.
Once you add a high flow air cleaner, you will need some sort of fuel managment. But for now...ride it like ya stole it.

Thanks guys.
Grzly, sounds like you are set to go.

I will leave things as is for now as I'm fairly confident I'm not doing any damage and I think I can live with the slight popping on decel.

I'm sure a PCIII is in my future at some point, but I also have so much "stuff" I want to get.
