Anyone Have Freedom Performance Declaration Turn-Outs?
Greetings!
I'm trying to decide on a decent set of 2-into-2 pipes for a Softail Slim, but I'm torn between the Vance & Hines Staggered Bigshots (BSS) and Freedom Performance Declaration Turn-Outs (TO).
I much prefer the 'street-sweeper' look of the FP TO's, but I'm concerned that they're likely to be significantly louder than the V&H BSS, and more importantly, its not clear to me whether a guy would even be able to re-baffle them, given the sharp outward bend at their tips.
Anyone have any idea on this? I see from researching it that FP offers so-called "quiet baffles" for some of their pipes, but none of the advertising makes it clear whether they would work specifically in their Declaration TO model.
I ran the declaration t/o on my 07 wide glide, replaced then after a few months for VH which seemed to be louder.
If I recall the declarations pipes are straight, it is the heat shield that gives the curve look, so baffles shouldn't be an issue. If interested I can pull from the attic and take a look to confirm or if interested in them can make a deal.

No, I'm not completely positive, but I think the TO pipes themselves are curved, not just the heat shields, and yet, replacement baffles must in-fact fit into them somehow, because they make numerous types of baffles. I think I'll just contact FP directly to see what I can find out.
As for the Declaration TO's that you have there in your attic, are they chrome or black? I'd only be interested in chrome, and I'd hate to see you put too much work into it, but if they are chrome, what shape are they in?
Wow! Thanks for your efforts! I guess that explains it, doesn't it? I just haven't been paying enough attention to details, because I had NO idea that anyone was making heat shields that long. Craziness, but very cool! I seriously thought they were just one single pipe with a small heat shield up nearest the flange. Shows you what I know! ;-)
Anywho, the one header and heat shield that you've photographed here looks pretty clean in terms of chrome finish, etc., so I suspect the other one does too, and I can't really tell from the photo(s) if they have the proper O2 sensor bungs (?), but are you saying that you're looking to part with these?
Yeah no kidding, surprised me a bit when I unwrapped everything on how they achieve the turnout look. Shoot me a pm with email and we can work something out - I need to go rummage thru and find the mounting plate for them.
