Have you tried fresh clamps? The loc tite would help too. I wouldn't be scared to use red. Heat releases it so worse case, you've got to warm the bike up to get them busted loose.
do not think lock-tite is the ticket. vibration and heat cycles will tend to loosen the clamps so i would add some friction to the worm by tightening down on the worm cover.
Ideal makes real good stainless steel clamps and tighten the with a 1/4" ratchet... Nice and tight and you won't need loctite. Where you gonna put it anyways... It's not like a nut and bolt setup...
Thanks to all for their suggestions, please keep them coming. I do use a socket to tighten them up. I like the look of the Ideal clamps but it was too late to find out more today so will check that out tomorrow. ....goldie
I have some new Ideal clamps on the way. I'm in Montana and the bike is in AZ so it will be a few weeks before I get back down that way and install them.
BTW they are size 20 with a 1/2" width band as per V&H tech support.....goldie
