Red Thunder vs Thunder header
Hey guys new here
from the UK 🇬🇧 riding a FXDX 01
trying to decide which exhaust system to go with
I’m an obnoxious guy and like being loud so I’ve never heard a thunder header but seen videos same with red thunder
im wondering on anyone who’s had both or seen and heard both exhausts
I hear different things about thunderheaders build quality some say it’s good now some say it’s still trash
I know both exhausts are giving great performance I don’t think I’d notice over the two which is better so that’s not a big deal
red thunder has better build quality but more expensive
What do you guys think the better option is?

I would go with the Thunderheader between the two for no other reason than the history and almost nostalgia of the company. I had no heard of Red Thunder before and it looks to be a knock off of a Thunderheader!

Red Thunder is in fact an exact copy of a ThunderHeader. Down to the baffle design and all. Except the head pipes are removable (as opposed to the ThunderHeader being a one piece unit) and most importantly it’s made of cerakoted stainless steel, as opposed to the mild steel of the ThunderHeader that starts to corrode before you take it out of the box (or so I’ve heard).
I’ve never heard a ThunderHeader in person, but the Red Thunder sounds just like what I’ve seen on videos and on a certain TV show that featured lots of dynas with Thunderheaders. It’s f’n loud. But it sounds great. And is a great performer.
However, and it’s a big however... The company sucks. Big time. The lie about shipping product, take months to deliver, and I wouldn’t want to be in the position of needing customer service... If you can find one in stock somewhere, buy it but do so with the expectation that you’ll never get a reliable answer from the manufacturer. It took me two months to get mine, and I still couldn’t get heat shields from them. Unfortunately they are ever so slightly different so ThunderHeader heat shields don’t fit. So luckily I found a set of stainless ones I have to Cerakote to match. But I don’t care, easier then getting new pipes. W/o shields they are HOT.
