I’d think there is more “science” involved to properly size and install a crossover to make it effective. But, you could just do it, and if you aren’t happy with it, remove it and weld a patch back over the holes. Since they holes will be on the inside you won’t see them patches.
Hmmm, that's interesting. I have a set of DK Custom Thunder Torque Inserts installed right now, and they made a big difference in the low end torque delivery. How much would you want for them including shipping? Keeping in mind I live in Canada.
Cheers!
I think I had them listed here awhile back for $40 or $50 shipped. I'll do $30 for ya.

Thanks man. Tried PM'ing you, but your inbox is full.
I'm thinking of picking up a set of V&H Straight Shots slip-ons, which have the crossover pipe bungs already installed, and using them with the V&H head pipes, and stock crossover tube. Without the heat shields installed on the slip-ons,they are about the same the same diameter as the head pipes with heat shields installed. I think that will accomplish what I'm after - a crossover system with staggered drag pipe look.
If that all works out, I will do comparison dyno runs to see if there's any significant performance change for better or worse. That will be in the springtime.
Fingers crossed it all works out and I make some gains. Worse comes to worst, I'm out a few hundred bucks to satisfy my curiosity.
Khromewerks and now Thrashin calls them part of an anti reversion baffle. They seem to diffuse pretty well and have a nice deep tone. Those are inside another perforated baffle in the khromewerks and Thrashin.
Post your results. I'm curious how they really do in that setup.

I will for sure. As I mentioned in the PMs, I'm going to do a shootout with the different exhaust configs (starting with what's installed now: V&H Straight Shots full system, no baffles, with TTIs), and go with the one that performs the best.
