the main reason i'm asking... someone told me that "bad gas" is not necessarily low grade gas, but it could actually be that certain gas station sell "bad gas" (could be any grade)... i just want to stay away from those station(s).

Bad gas can come from anywhere, but I think the best ways to avoid getting some is to avoid filling up while the gas truck is filling the tanks, or after it just left.

Citgo runs the show around here, but I go out of my way to fill up at Shell, BP, or Exxon/Mobil. Normally it's the shell station around here that is fairly new and I know people regularly come and pump v-power 93 octane. So I don't worry about how long that 93 premium gas has been sitting in the tanks lol

I agree with Slackwolf.......avoid stations when the truck is unloading. Any station can have contamination issues if they don't pump the water out of their tanks in a timely manner. Next time you go to your favorite station, ask them how often they check their tanks for water? Especially with all the rain we get in Florida. Three years ago, Shell had a refinery problem which caused many south Floridacars problems with their gas tank gauges. The wiring inside the tanks were damaged from a sulferblending problem. Probably can happen with any brandbut I have always heard that Amoco was the best..........so BP is where I buy my gas.
