Default Stage I and re-map ???

I just picked up an '08 and interested in adding Rush slip-ons and SE air cleaner. I'm new to the EFI and notice with many mods folks are either adding the PCIII or Sert. My local dealer (excellent to deal with) said all they need to to is "flash" the ECM. Is this all thats required ? Will this flashing be enough to richen up my bike ? Thank you in advance.

Jim

It seems like a lot of people here go for the PCIII's. As of right now for my '08 FB, I'm just going with the remap with the SE air cleaner and V&H BSS. I think the line of thinking is that why give your money to HD for the remap if you can get a PCIII for next to the same price and do it your self. It's a very valid point, but as this is my first HD, I'm a little nervous as to ******** up the warranty.

I know what you mean. My situation is I pretty much spent all I care to spend buying the bike. Just bought a used one for my wife recently too. Anyway the ideal thing would be getting the PCIII or SERT along with A/C and pipes, but after speaking to my dealer today I'm just adding Rush slip-ons and they will remap the ECM (richen the bike) and the drill a couple holes in the backing plate. They said it will pull a bit more air but will richen up the bike and help cool it a bit more. Then later when I am ready I 'll purchase the SERT and A/C assembly. I'm not looking for the extra HP right now, just cooling and sound....OOO yeah and to get rid of these stupid dirt bike pegs and grips !!!!
