i have SE II slip ons with no remaping for about 400 miles with no problems if i down shift with a high rpm it will pop ever once in a while but a big deal and not ever time ..
my question the dealer is do my 1000 mile service saterday and i would like to have it remapped when i am there, but i dont have the air cleaner yet .. can i do this with no problems ? i dont really have the money for anything but the download right now .. am i going about this all wrong ? is the download going to give me issues. i hear alot of CONS about the download but from what i make of it its because people want to get the most out of there bike and u cant do that with the download?
You need to do the air cleaner and exaust mod at the same time and then immediately take you bike to a shop and have them dyno and SERT. My bike came out of the shop after tuning with 81HP and 82 FT LB of TQ, it hauls major a$$. I also have the intermitten decel pop but i got used to it.
I would have to agree with AZ Rider,... If you dont plan on changing to a high flow air cleaner then I wouldnt bother with a download at this time. I ran my 06 Superglide for a while with just my aftermarket slipons without any problems at all. When I added the S/E a/c, I then installed my a sert, but if you dont have any plans for a high flow air cleaner then just save your money for other goodies.
I installed a set of V&H shorties on my 05 never had it remapped once, but I also bought the V&H fuel pack that plugs into the bike wiring harness under the seat and it allows you to make adjustments as you install differant parts to your bike. I'm still running the factory air breather and it works fine.
