Can you put the S/e air cleaner on without pipes, slip ons or a tuner?? I have the air cleaner and am waiting for the rest of the stuff to arrive and was just wondering?? 05 Lectra Glide Classic, 1080 miles tonight

you will likely lean it out using that high flow AC. if it has a carb, you will likely have to re-jet. if EFI you will need a tuner (SERT, PC, etc.) to richen the AFR.

Get the HD parts and accessories catalog 2007.
On page 539 (I think) is the air cleaner and a note of what
HD says you need to do.
It says an ECM reflash with the STAGE ! download is required.
But you don't need to buy the sert or pciii etc if you don't want to.
the sert , pciii etc are more adjustable and tuneable but not a necessity.

Good advice from everyone... I have tried the Stage 1 Air Intake without the download and the pipes got so hot I could smell them while on the road! I have even tried the stock housing and just a K&N Air Filter with the same results. The stock setup is running so lean that any additional airflow will produce a dangerously lean condition. Better to go with the download or aftermarket ECM tuner to avoid problems.

Yeah I guess I'll just wait it out. I'm still having a ball riding this bike and after almost 1 week of ownershipI really don't miss my Sportster at all-even with all the speed and obnoxious outlaw biker sound it had from the drag pipes. After 10000 miles of on the edge riding with my 05 1200 CustomI was overdue to screw up.The radio/CD on the Electra Glideis veryenjoyable. The looks from motorists when I'm stopped at a light or tooling alongfeel pretty good too. Especially the older guys-the vets from the military and the motorcyclist vets,you could just tell.
