Wanna take them off!! Whats the way to do it?? Someone suggested dental floss. Is that the trick? I guess I'd heat it up the sticky stuff with a hair dryer or something. I got the demin black Bob, would the paint be OK?
The weather here in PA has been real hot and humid. I have black cherry bob. I set it out in the sun and let it heat up and the reflectors just pulled off. There was a little bit of the glue left on which cleaned off pretty easy with WD40. Then washed and waxed bike. If you use the WD40 make sure you don't get it on rear brake. I covered mine with plastic bag just in case some dripped down. Looks better with them off. Good luck
With denim paint you could probably use carb cleaner. That stuff will make the glue easier to clean than any other spray. I used dental floss which broke and then used some 10 lb test fishing line. What's your address? I'll send you a few inches.
I used a combination of goo gone spray, wd40, and carb cleaner, I tried to be easy with the carb cleaner on the clear coat, but that glue/tape was tough even in the hot sun and humidity.
Personally, I don't think the dental floss or fishing line method is worth the effort. Just peel them off. Same goes for the tank emblems. Just mask off the end opposite where you're lifting to avoid it scratching the paint. If the adhesive stays on the paint and won't easily peel off, 3M Adhesive Remover.
I soaked mine with white spirit applied with a brush, allowed it to soak in for about 20 minutes - time for a cold one - before pulling/twisting them off by hand.
