Has any one gone down the road yet of changing the exhaust on the new 2008 bikes. There doesnt seem to be a lot of information out there yet. My Dealership is telling me we can change the exhaust but IF you are going to do an air filter and a remap the only thing available yet is the Screaming eagle race tuner? the Tech's at the dealership don't have very much information yet about the 08's.
O2,
Rhinehart has told me the pipes for the 07's will fit on 08's. As far as I know the race tuner will not be available till Sept 08 as per my local HD dealer.
If you've heard of ANYONE with a race tuner for an 08 let me know ASAP.....
One thing to remember is with buying a new 08'...if you happen to do a high flow air cleaner you must have it installed at the time of purchase or it voids your warranty.
Well let me re-phrase that...It doesn't VOID your warranty, but for it to be covered in your warranty it has to be installed on the day of purchase.
Hey, just a little info for you. Read this http://www.dynosources.com/dept.asp?d_id=203&l1=203. Basically what it says is unless a part can be proven to cause a failure requiring your warranty to be used, your warranty CAN NOT be voided. If a dealer says that it will void your warranty to buy a particular part, have them give you that in writing. That way, if it comes down to a warranty claim, you will have proof to use in court when you sue the dealer. Aftermarket parts will not void your warranty unless it can be proven to have caused the failure no matter what the dealer tells you. And then the burden of proof falls to the dealer, which is not an easy thing to prove, and hardly worth the time and money involved for the dealer to prove it. It is cheaper for them to simple fix it under warranty. FWIW.
Well let me re-phrase that...It doesn't VOID your warranty, but for it to be covered in your warranty it has to be installed on the day of purchase.
The accessoriesthe dealerinstalls at the time of the bike purchase will be covered for the length of the bike warranty. If installed at a later date, the accessory is covered by its own warranty. This has nothing to do with voiding your bike's warranty.
