I have just picked up a 2005 Classic Springer this past October with black thunderheader pipes. This bike was used (138 miles) and given a really nice look from the 40's. However there is a Spot on the exaust where I was told the owner left a little of his shoe leather. I tried to clean it off tonight and noticed that the brown color turn grey after cleaning and there does not seem to be paint there. Does anyone know if there is a "touch up" paint out there for ceramic black? I found a ceramic paint out there on the web but it requires air brushing. If anyone knows of a temporary fix I would appreciate the info.
No really I have seen touch ups but they do not last and are not a spot on match. Have the pipe recoated it the correct way, sorry for the bad news. or black heat wrap??
Don't worry about it now. The black finish on the thunder headers is crap it'll all be comming off soon enough. Then you can get it Jet-hot coated or something similar.
