I will post it in the oil & Touring forums also but I wanted to get some thoughts fromhere as well.
What I have is in my signature.
Here's my problem. I've noticed along a ride a few weeks ago some oil up on my Tour Pack. Not much just a few droplets. Then I looked down and the saddlebag front is covered as well as the bottom right side of the engine beside my right foot. Wiped her off and went home.
Got my 10K service done and they said that's "normal" due to the mods that I have. Went away for about 300mi and now it's back. I wiped my finger up in the air cleaner football and got mad black crap. Somebody please point me in the right direction and I'm not looking to change my exhaust or any other things just help me with the problem if you can.
With the mods comes a quicker revving engine, this leaves the oil system handling more and hotter oil and as it fills the rocker boxes under accelleration the misting starts and over loads in the a/c. We do a couple of things to stop this. Dump the head breathers to the ground and lower the oil level in the oil tank. There are other tricks we use on larger engines but these 2 things should slow down your problem. Hope this helps.
First solution is to check the oil level hot....if right to full or over, that can defnitely cause the problem.I always only fill to about 1/4 qt. low, and have never had a problem.
From your sig , the items are not such that they should cause you any type of oiling problems. Lots of guys here running much bigger engines and mods without having oiling issues.
