I would call Wes Brown at www.cycle-rama.com Ask for the Millenium 114" big bore kit for a Twin cam. He is normally about 15% cheaper than list price. Or try www.revperf.com but expect to pay full price.

Let me chime in a little,

JIMS has been mentioned, and seems to be a good way to go, with the exception that he feels the need to use chain driven cams, which makes absolutely no sense to me personally........

joe
And who mentioned using chain driven cams? None that I can see.

And the Jims Case I am referring to goes alot bigger than 120",in fact I dont think its even advertised yet. Im not talking about the 120" engine they build at all. They just brought the case out on the market. It can be purchased with a stock stud pattern, a modified stud pattern, or not drilled at all so you can install your own custom sleeves and heads.

The JIMS 120 complete motor comes with chain driven cams.[&:]

I myself am building a chopper for a customer with a 120" ultima engine. Will be my first experience with that brand. Have mainly used S&S and Jims with hardly any problems. I hope the Ultima stands up to that.

i own an Ultima El Bruto 113" and have hammered the **** out of it for 2 yrs...bout 15k so far...not a leak...never a prob...doesnt overheat in the Texas summer...runs like a scalded ape...finish is gorgeous...fins appear larger than on the S&S, for cooling i'd imagine...i run a velocity stack...crane hi-4...and a set of 1 7/8" drag pipes open...with the TF2000 it will easily make 127hp @ the rear...with the autoclutch it spanks HI-Abusee's from light to light, leaving them agasp...on the dyno with the autoclutch it pulls 127...run the valves before cranking and then again after a good seat...timing is at a static 30 with 1 notch up on the front and 2 on the rear...frame is a Pro-Street Framework dropseat softail with an American Suspension front end...bike weighs almost 700lbs and hauls ***....its the ONLY chopper in my group of friends that is and always has been trouble free...buy an Ultima..good bang for the buck....i made a thread in the Lounge about "anyone have a hotrod chopper"...pics are there

Looking for an Engine upgrade myself. But unfortunately, I have a 1999 Softail with the Evo. The twin cam deal sounds pretty good, but will it hook up to a Evo frame? Does not sound like it would.... So, are we left with to get a Evo "clone" from either Ultima, S&S, etc?

Frankly, I've never heard a bad word about Midwest's Ultima and El Bruto engines. They have a reputation of being very smooth running engines. And at a price that can't be beat. Last I saw Jirehcycles.com had them on sale.
As for the TC being superior, I don't think so. The Evo was and still is one of the most reliable motorcycle engines ever made, and the aftermarket clones have improved on most of the areas that were weak on the Evo. And the Evo runs cool. You can ride on hot days without cooking your legs.
One thing I just remembered. I read where Midwest uses OEM tappets in at least some of their engines. Be sure and change them out, they are a well known Evo weakness (two of mine failed).
