Firetender; I see you have a simular set I have. Do you have the magnetii injection? If so, are you running a Power Commander and what map? Also, what compression ratio?
Thanks.
Forbidden, I have the Magnetti-Marelli EFI.Before the work started, the bike was a Stage II 95" with SE203 cams (HD big-bore kit). I sent the throttle body out to BC Gerolomy for modification asthe stock two-runnerbutterfly setupis apparentlythe weakspot of modifying the MM-era bikes. The porting shop downloaded a PCIII-usbtypical map for my setup, I don't know it's ID # offhand. The PCIII is mated to the Stage II HD download - a "limp home" mode if the PCIII fails. The compression ration is 10.5:1. Detonation is minimized (per industry software program) in this MM-era engine setup by using a 0.40 cometic gasket rather than a 0.30, although it's not really an issue either way with my driving style. I'll be honest here, If I had reallydeep pockets, I'd be using the ThunderMax MM conversion package as I could see better gas mileage and no need for a dyno tune. But alas, there was only so much money in the insurance payout, and I'm raising my own scratch for the dyno tune (hey, it's California, everything costs a little more here!!) As a result of the modified throttle body, I don't have any driveability issues with the Stage III setup. The bike runs considerably cooler with the PCIII and headwork.
