I'm looking at Thunderheaders for my 08 Road Glide with a high output 103", but it seems that most T-H pipes I see discolor pretty bad at the collector. What kind of luck have you guys that have run T-H pipes had as far as discoloring? Thanks.
I've had 2 Thunderheader 2-1 systems, and both discolored pretty quickly under the heatsheilds.
The quality of the Thunderheader is really s hitty when compared to any other system on the market. While they do sound good, there are much better options out there and they will also give you better performance too.
Mine is only discolored under the heat shield. I don't have any problems with the color around the collector, nothing that a SOS pad won't take care of.. As for the performance the TH is the only 2-1 I've ever had and it pulls like a Mo-Fker, compaired to my old Rinehart TD's. So that's all that really matters to me................
Not true about the thunder header. It's one of the best you can get for a 2 in to 1 application. There are little trix you can do with the T-H baffling back pressurethat you can't with any other 2into1 pipe to get true H-P gains. Can get you in touch with a H-D racer that can give you the skinny. Thunderheadrs rock no ifs ands or buts about it.

I know that trick, and I did it to both of my Thunderheaders..........but it still didn't help out the crappy quality of the build.
I have seen plenty that discolor. I have never owned one myself but have seen plenty that are very discolored. I have a local customer with one that has no dis coloring oh yea it is black pipe HA HA . They can make some good power, I really love the sound of them, not much else sounds that good. I cannot recal one that I have seen that is still shiney. Not to say that they are not out there.
30k on my RKC Classic... Thunderheader 2-1 with falsee the entire time. It has the Thunderheader heat shield accessories and looks great. Yellow? Underneath the shieds yes. Otherwise no.
